A quick update for friends and family who aren't on Facebook where I tend to update more often as I can do it on the go! Finley started preschool a couple of weeks ago 5 mornings a week and is doing great. She attended a Montessori pre-school in China for almost a year so she was missing the friends and routine. We discussed with our social worker if it was ok to put her into school so soon after coming home (we have been home about 2.5 months) and she said if attachment was going well (and it is!) and since she was used to the routine she recommended giving it a try. Her language continues to blossom, yesterday we came home from school and she said "Hello Pixie how are you, I missed you!" and when we left to pick up Chen Chen from school she said "Bye Pixie we will be right back we go get jie jie (big sister)"
Due to the cold weather we have been staying close to home and that is probably a good thing as we continue to cocoon to a certain extent. We go out and do things as a family but have kept our circle small. Next month we will travel out of state to visit family for spring break and I am sure that will be stressful for her as we travel and stay in hotels which may remind her of our time in China. We have started screening through the school district to see what services she will qualify for, we have had speech/language screening and vision screening will be next. We are still waiting to return to our opthalmologist to see what her vision #s come back as, she had an initial visit to check the health of her eyes and the next visit should let us know what her vision is. Thanks to the wonderful care she received through Little Flower Projects she gets around great and there isn't anything she can't do/won't try to do...she is a bit of a dare devil and scares me several times a day but she always land on her feet (literally) and we don't want to hold her back. CC is very reserved so it has been an adjustment to have all of this energy in the house!

A couple of weeks ago we were able to meet up with Finley's foster brother. They not only lived in the same foster home, they also lived in the same orphanage and are from the same part of Inner Mongolia. Before we traveled to adopt Finley we were told she was closest to him of all of her foster siblings and that he was like a brother to her. He was adopted about 2 months before her by a family only 90 minutes from us...what are the odds?! They immediately recognized each other and wouldn't let go of each other, so sweet. We have been able to WeChat with him as well and feel so blessed to be able to keep the kids in contact.
Love our 2 goofy girls!!
