As I type this it is 8:56 pm on Wednesday night in China, we left our house at 8 am on Tuesday morning and got here at 3:30 pm on Wednesday. The flight I had been dreading for months was an easy one, most of the seats in our section were empty so we got to spread out and the flight was nice and smooth. I think I slept maybe 30 minutes of our flight, Chen Chen slept about 3 hours and Bob slept for just a couple. The 2 of them are sound asleep but I am falling into the same trap I did last trip...I am so not tired despite being up forever but I am going to force myself to go to sleep here soon!
When we arrived our guide took us to our hotel which is our fanciest China hotel yet...we have 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a washing machine! Our hotel is in an area with lots of shopping so once we got checked in we took a quick stroll to pick up some noodles and water and checked out an area called food street where you can buy anything and everything you can imagine to eat on a stick! I didn't get a lot of pics today...just a few quick phone pics as my camera is packed away in a bag somewhere. Tomorrow we are touring the Forbidden City in the morning and then are going to the CCCWA in the afternoon to view Chen Chen's adoption file.
Relaxing on the plane
Finally in Beijing!
Who needs a pool when this is your tub
We may be a little excited about the fact we have a washing machine!
Our guide warned us not to try any of the food on food street...he doesn't have anything to worry about!
