We are house bound again today with our second arctic blast that has cancelled school for today and tomorrow & we have been looking for fun things to do that don't involve the iPad or the tv or the Wii. Yesterday was nice enough to get out and attend a Chinese New Year lunch put on by a local FCC chapter so we were in the CNY mood today. During a late night session of Pinterest surfing a few days ago I got the idea that I would make Chinese New Year cards this year....well that probably isn't going to happen, but I did drag out and dust off my big girl camera and get out one of the dresses we bought in Guangzhou since my model agreed this morning that she would submit herself to having her hair down and pictures taken! I bought some photography lights for myself for Christmas to use for taking pictures of layouts. I haven't quite mastered them for that yet, but I think they worked pretty well for these pics.
While we in Guangzhou I bought traditional dresses in several sizes so we would have them for the next few years. So glad the pink one is the one that fits her this year as she is totally in her evrything pink phase!
We bought this necklace for her in Beijing the day we before we met her. It is carved with her zodiac animal the rat...she is very proud of being a rat :)
"Mom, can I make funny faces now?!"
