A few weeks ago when I starting thinking about Halloween costumes, we quickly settled on Minnie Mouse. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is Frances' obsession these days and since I knew I wanted to make her costume I figured it would be a pretty easy one to pull off. All in all it ended up costing about $6.50 in supplies and I was able to use some things from her closet and my craft-stash to keep it on the cheap. I made her skirt and the oversized bow and embellished a canvas tote with ruffles to match her skirt. For a fleeting moment I thought about making the ears but quickly got over myself, logged off of Pinterest, and broke down and spent the $3.75 on these.
She's got a big bag ready for the candy haul! We have been watching the Yo Gabba and Kai Lan Halloween episodes over the past few weeks and she's got a pretty good "trick or treat!" down :)
I even ended up with a few extra minutes last night to make some goodie bags for her classmates for their Halloween party at school today. This is why I can't throw any crafting stuff away, you never know when you will need that 1 piece of Martha Stewart Halloween paper you have been holding on to for years!! In this case the "when" was at midnight the night before her party.
I didn't think about it at first, but when I told someone what she was going to be they said "oh like the picture you have of her in China!" One of her referral pictures was this one, we figure the ears are because she was born in the year of the rat...
She looked a little happier walking out the door to school this morning!!
