Yesterday while at work I got an e-mail from our social worker letting us know that DCFS had approved our home study!!! Illinois is special in that you have several more hoops to jump through one of which is getting your home study approved by the state. I have heard horror stories of this taking up to 2 months in some cases but ours was approved in 2 weeks...yay! I should have our home study in hand in the next couple of days and then we can file our I-800A, the official title of which is "Application for Determination of Suitability to Adopt a Child from a Convention Country"...long story short more paperwork, a couple of large checks, getting fingerprinted again and more waiting! While that is happening we will be working on getting a bunch of documents certified and authenticated for our dossier...still crossing our fingers to have our dossier to China by early January. I celebrated this milestone by indulging in a little on-line shopping...I had been eyeing these fun blocks for a while but they were sold out everywhere, as luck would have it they were in stock again yesterday and they were even on sale :)
These cute headbands were 50% off at Anthro..I know it is way to early to be buying stuff for the kid but how could I not get these?!
For the first time in forever I got crafty this morning...I had been wanting to play around with this pattern for a while and finally gave it a go this morning, all in all it was pretty easy but my poor girl ended up with little t-rex arms, oh well I will adjust the pattern next time
Total t-rex arms...see :)
