My first sketch ever...I have never scrapped from a sketch so when I was asked by Scrap In Japan to come up with one I had to work backwards from a LO I created for them...not the way it's supposed to be done I am sure...lol :)
I have spent the last few days recovering from the trip to the oral surgeon on Monday....I haven't spent multiple days on the couch watching t.v. for quite a while and I must say it was a nice break. I am starting to get antsy today so I am working on my class for Scrap In Style Live and doing a little cleaning in my scraproom which is out of control! It was bad before but now that the Blythe dolls and all of their clothes are in here too we are definitely out of room!!
I went to a meetup for a group I found on Flickr, Plastic Chicago, which was held at a store called Gigi's Dolls and Sherry's Teddy Bears in Chicago. I have been wanting to go there for a while and I am glad I did...I found a bunch of stuff for the girls including a vintage Barbie case for their clothes, a bunch of shoes and clothes and some Re-Ment goodies plus I got to meet some other cool dolll loving peeps :)
So after a mix up at the dentist/oral surgeon last week with my appointment I am going in on Monday to have a couple of teeth extracted...ugh! I am taking some time off of work to recover and am looking forward to hopefully feeling well enough at least a couple of days to do some scrapping as I haven't had much time to work on stuff lately and am itching to create something!! If I don't feel up to working on anything I will be catching up on movies and doing some pug snuggling :)
and mentally preparing ourselves for another visit to the oral surgeon next week...blah! The rain is coming to an end after a couple of days of non-stop showers and it is going to be 80 by this weekend....yay!!!
My name is Martha, I am a grown woman and I am playing with dolls.
Blythe dolls in particular...mine came in the post this weekend and I totally blame her for posting all of the lovely pics of her girls and then her because she pushed me over the edge! Meet Velouria (not only am I playing with dolls, I am naming them too...ack!)
Here she is straight out of the box sporting some pretty bad "box hair". I tried ironing her hair a bit yesterday, being very careful, using a damp towel and all but I think I was being too timid as it is not quite straight enough yet. As soon as I work up the courage I will subject her to round 2 of hair ironing as I really want her hair to be stick straight!
This is what sold me on the whole idea, I can make clothes for them like this super simple skirt from this pattern
That and the fact that they are more willing photography subjects than the wiggly pugs :)
Anywho, whatever makes you happy, right? I need to carve out some space for her in my scraproom so she doesn't get lost amongst all the paper!
On a random note...this makes me happy too, thanks Kayla :)
I have the privilege of being April Guest designer for Elle's Studio and the gallery with my projects is up today! She was so generous and sent me so many fun things to work with it was super easy to come up with some fun projects using her tags and journaling cards...
that band of buttons came off of an Anthropologie gift card I received at Christmas, I tucked it away just knowing it would end up on a LO :)
you can check out detail shots of my projects here.
